Annisa Febiola, Jakarta – The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) records that the number of investors in the Indonesian capital market has surpassed 18 million single investor identifications (SID). This figure sets a new record for the number of investors in the Indonesian capital market.

As of the end of August 2025, the number of SIDs reached 18,012,665. Based on the IDX's records as of August 8, 2025, the number of investors in the Indonesian capital market had only reached 17.59 million.

IDX Corporate Secretary Kautsar Primadi Nurahmad said that the increase in the number of investors in the capital market reflects the growing optimism and confidence of investors. "This achievement is not just a number, but also reflects the growing optimism and confidence of investors in the national economy and the Indonesian capital market," he said in a written statement quoted on Sunday, September 7, 2025.

Throughout this year, Kautsar said IDX recorded an addition of 3,141,026 new SIDs thanks to the consistent education programs they have been running together with other self-regulatory organizations (SROs) and stakeholders, with the support of the Financial Services Authority (OJK). Of these figures, the number of stock investors has reached 7,558,552 SIDs, of which 1,177,108 SIDs are new investors.

Kautsar also revealed the stock trading data during the last week at IDX, from September 1 to 4, 2025, closed variedly. The Indonesia Composite Index (IHSG) strengthened by 0.47 percent during the week, from 7,830.49 the previous week to 7,867.34.

IDX's market capitalization increased by 0.2 percent last week. Market capitalization grew from Rp14,182 trillion last week to Rp14,211 trillion. However, the average daily transaction frequency decreased by 9.88 percent, from 2.31 million transactions during the previous week to 2.08 million transactions. This week, the average daily trading volume on the exchange decreased by 21.09 percent, dropping from 47.19 billion shares to 37.24 billion shares.

There was also a decrease in the average daily transaction value at IDX, by 28.43 percent. Last week, the average daily transaction value at IDX was Rp25.22 trillion. This week, however, it decreased to Rp18.05 trillion. Throughout 2025, foreign investors recorded a net selling value of Rp55.13 trillion.
